statement of interest
In the film Moonlight, protagonist Chiron is constantly asked the question of whether he is “hard” or “soft” by his peers, referring to his masculinity. Taking the literal meaning of these terms, I want to create a pendant light that utilizes both qualities of a single material. The light will be steel with a brass accent, alluding to the cool tones accented throughout the warm lighting in the film’s atmosphere. The bulbs are also dimmable, mimicking the changes between bright daylight and dim night light throughout the movie.
